李健是一位洞穴探险专家，由于当年的一次酒驾车祸，他的儿子小宇左脚落下终生残疾，妻子刘芸无法原谅李健提出了离婚，李健也因此长期深深的愧疚和自责。为了实现小宇跟爸爸团聚的生日愿望，刘芸带着小宇来到了李健工作的地方。湖水中突然出现的漩涡将李健一家人吸入了地心深处的神秘溶洞。地心深处危机四伏，嗜血的人形怪物，危险的异星巨兽，李健为了保护妻儿逃生，开始了他生命中最艰险的一次地心历险。
